Personal History

Born and raised in Kitchener-Waterloo, Dan Padden enjoyed a dynamic and varied career in the construction industry.

Early on, he gained experience in the field of civil engineering which later led to subdivision design and development and sales management.

In early 1979 Dan Padden joined the team at CSAO (Construction Safety Association of Ontario). As a field consultant in the K-W area his duties included Health and Safety consultation and training with both management and labour.

Dan was promoted to supervisor in 1982 and subsequently held positions as Program Development and Training and Advisory manager. Most recently Dan managed Special Projects for CSAO including Safety Groups in Construction.

Dan also contributed articles to CSAO’s Construction Safety Magazine.

Dan spearheaded the design and development of the CSAO Construction Health and Safety Audit and actively participated with members of the Canadian Federation of Construction Safety Associations in negotiating a National Health and Safety Audit agreement for construction.

In June 2007, Dan Padden retired from CSAO after nearly 29 years of service.

With this remarkably solid background in planning and accomplishment in the field of construction safety, Dan has now achieved his next dream: the formation of his new consulting business CONSTRUCTION SAFETY SOLUTIONS.

Dan and his wife Sharon, enjoy an active life in the Caledon Hills, where they reside in a custom home that they designed and built themselves.

Along with sailing and golf, they are very fond of backyard get-togethers with friends and family, including their 4 grandchildren.
